“Spirometric investigation of effects of tobacco consumers and non-consumers on lung health”

Agricultural Development Trust’s Shardabai Pawar Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research is going to organize this workshop. The main objectives of this workshop are

• To organize keynote lectures on lung health and adverse effects of use of tobacco by various means such as cigarette smoking, Bidi smoking, tobacco chewing, use of Mishri for teeth cleaning etc.

• To use of digital spirometer for lung function test and lung health of the participants.

• To identify, convince and gather at least 50 of tobacco addicted people and 150 tobacco non-user people. Total 200 people will be planned for studying the spirometric parameters.

• To use of digital spirometer which will result in combination with counseling about tobacco use to enhance cessation rate of tobacco consumption by people to obtain better results.

• To display spirometry values to tobacco consumers and to know him / her further lung health consequences due to hazardous effects of tobacco consumption by various means.

• To correlate tobacco user lung spirometry parameters lung with COVID 19 infected lung.

• To focus on different mechanisms of adverse effects of nicotine consumption on healthy lung and co-infection of other severe diseases.

• To inform recovery rate of lung of nicotine addicted person in effective duration.

This workshop is going to know the hazardous effects of the tobacco use to the tobacco users which have participated in the workshop. It will further assist to National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP) which will help to collaborate National Health Mission of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

The workshop is open for students and teachers of all faculties including science, pharmacy, and technology as well as to the society people who are addicted or non-addicted to tobacco and want to relieve themselves from consumption of tobacco.
